United Appoint New Manager

The Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Jat as the first team manager for the forthcoming 2019/2020 Season.

Mark return’s to the Club, he originally joined United's Management Team during the summer of 2013 initially as an Assistant to Manager Aled Owen, and in his first season United won the coveted FAW Trophy.

Following Aled Owen’s resignation Mark was appointed Manager of the club for the 2015/2016 season, and during his three seasons at the helm United finished a creditable 5th, 3rd and 3rd in the 1ST Division of The Welsh Alliance League and winning the Mawddach Cup in May 2017.

United Chairman Emyr Pritchard commented:
‘I am as everybody else as at Llanrug United delighted that Mark has returned and agreed to be our manager, he was a very valuable asset for the Club for a long period and is very highly respected and he will be a tremendous asset again as a manager to Llanrug United Football Club’.

Mark Jat commented:
’I am delighted and very proud to have the opportunity to return as manager of Llanrug United. I have a lot of friends at the Club, they are a truly friendly and superb club. The club officials, management and the supporters were excellent to me for many seasons I owe them a lot. We have a few exciting youngsters in our squad and I look forward to the new season’.

United’s new manager Mark Jat has announced his backroom staff.
‘The Management Team is very important to any Club I have taken my time on the appointments I’m comfortable that I’ve managed to get the right people in the right roles and hopefully will be able to take us to the next level'.

Jonathan Peris Jones (Assistant Manager) – Jonathan joined United as a player from Holyhead Hotspurs in November 2012, has Welsh Premier League experience with Porthmadog. Jonathan was appointed as an Assistant Manager for the 1st Team in June 2018. Previous clubs: Porthmadog, UWIC, Caernarfon Town, Llangefni Town, Glantraeth & Holyhead Hotspurs.

Dylan Owen (Assistant Manager) - Affectionately known as 'Midge', a dynamic experienced midfielder who was a young professional at Wrexham. Dylan was released from the Racecourse in December 2003 and joined his home town club Caernarfon Town. In June 2006 he moved on to Rhyl and in May 2007 signed for Llangefni Town and then in August 2009 he re-joined Caernarfon Town. Joined Llanrug United in August 2012, and had a brief spell away at Nantlle Vale from July 2017 until his return i December 2017.
Previous clubs: Wrexham, Caernarfon Town, Rhyl & Llangefni Town.

Steve Smith (Assistant Manager) – A well respected and an experienced manager and coach, who has Welsh Premier League experience with Porthmadog as a player. Steve was appointed manager of Caernarfon Town in November 2010 until January 2012, and has had several roles since at his home town Club Porthmadog.
