CPD Sychdyn started off the season with an impressive 3-0 win in a hard fought battle over Acton FC.
The game started with a quick tempo as CPD controlled possession in the opening 15 minutes with simple and quick passing by the whole team it was no surprise that Luke Robinson was put through one on one with the keeper and made no mistake to slot in the opening goal of the season.
The second half saw a much more difficult challenge as the team where drawn into a physical battle with the visitors. With substitutions made in the correct positions, it was clear to see the pace of Nicolas Van Miert was too much for the opposing team and on 70 minutes he was rewarded with a goal. Tim Hughes secured the 3 points for the home side when on 75 minutes tapped in from a cross.
This result sees CPD Sychdyn get their first opening day win in 3 years. Impressed new onlooking manager Shaun Antrobus commented "It's good to see that after all the hard work the lads did in pre season has paid off and secured us the 3 points. The tell tale sign was the fitness of our whole team throughout the 90 minutes"
Well done lads!!
