Cramlington Rockets was originally created in 2016 by now club president Steve Beaty Snr. Steve created the then Killingworth Rockets to allow his three sons to be part of a club that values all the positivity that sport can bring.
In the sixteen-year period the club has won many awards such National Club Of The Year 2017, has a full time award winning community department which has over 40 partner schools and we have developed a rich history of creating international standard players in either rugby league or union.
In April 2016 the club made the decision to add the final piece of the jigsaw by creating Rocket Tots, a fun, engaging toddler programme perfect for all children aged 2 – 5.
Our highly interactive, fun sessions are all focused around creating the best possible environment for you and your child. At Rocket Tots we have created a unique development plan proven to develop physical and mental skills as well as improving confidence and increase social development. Our unique learn through play sessions are perfect for children to explore a variety of sports in a fun, safe setting allowing parents to learn new skills or simply interactive with other adults.
We run 2 classes at the same time in the same venue, our 2 – 4 year olds play on one side of the hall and our 4 – 5 year olds play on the other. The groups are separated only by a curtain allowing people who have children in both classes to supervise with ease. Our sessions run all year round 09:00 – 10:00 in the main hall at Cramlington Sport Club, NE23 6BN. Only £20 per 6 weeks with options to pay as you play, to book your child’s FREE taster day click HERE.
For children aged 5 and 6 who might be more suited to rugby, they are invited to train with our U6 rugby team. Our U6s train every Saturday 09:00 – 10:00 on the grass in front of the Junior Learning Village, NE23 6BN. For more information you can contact our Minis Team Manager Jaqcui Lyon on 07949562827.
Meet the team
Paddy joined Rocket Tots as one of our first ever Tots parents when he brought his son George down for a free taster session. Both George and Paddy instantly fell in love with Rocket Tots and the feeling was very mutual as after seeing how amazing Paddy was with both the children and the parents the club asked him to become the first ever Rocket Tots Manager. His favourite game is Bombardment as he loves to hurl foam rugby balls at poor George (his dodging skills have improved though) and the thing Paddy loves most about Rocket Tots is seeing the Tots happy after a great session. He is very proud to be part of such a family orientated, positive club and is also very proud that several of the original Tots have moved up to the Rockets Minis team.
2 – 4 Coach

Also currently studying to be a primary school teacher Anna is a real hit with the children and numbers have skyrocketed since her arrival. Annas favourite game is Hungry Caterpillars and the thing she loves most about Rocket Tots is how much enjoyment the tots get from the session.

Bear is the longest serving coach at Rockets Community, a role he started only 5 years ago he became an instant hit with his witty, charismatic personality and is now seen as one of the best Community Coaches in the country. Bear also works full time for the club and is often seen coaching in schools across the whole of the North East. Bears favourite game is Quiz Master and the thing he loves most about Rocket Tots is the energy and enthusiasm from the children.
