Oxhey Jets FC 0 v Crawley Green FC 0

On a blustery afternoon both teams provided an entertaining game contesting the elements as well as each other.

As early as the 1st minute Jet's Sean Giordmaina tested Louie Lobjoit in the Crawley Green goal with a shot from the right side of the penalty area. A minute later Sean Giordmaina was put through, although looking offside he shot over the bar.

As the players adapted to the conditions, the Maroons forced a corner in 4th minute and Jet's keeper Matt Evan's punched clear. A minute later confusion in visitor's defence between keeper Lobjoit and Andre Elliott nearly let in Andrew Lopes but the ball was hacked clear by Chris Crook.

On the quarter of an hour Danny Watson played a peach of a ball from his own half finding Sam Holmes but the Jet's defender Juoe Bell averted the danger. A flowing move down the right wing, involving Phil Draycott and Sam Holmes, ended with a Danny Watson shot being blocked by a Jet's defender.

In the 44th minute a scorching shot from Andre Lopes looked goal bound only for Louie Lobjoit to make a spectacular one handed save to push the ball over the bar and it finished 0-0 at half time.

The Maroons continued in the 2nd half to make the better chances with Watson and Holmes both having shots saved. In the 61st minute Danny Watson was through on goal but the Jets keeper Matt Evan's saved well to keep the home side in the game.

Jet's then mounted some sustained pressure and in the 71st minute won a corner after good run down the the right wing by Lopes. From the corner Tom Gibson headed over the bar.

In the 85th minute Anolew Lopes unleashed what appeared to be an unstoppable shot but Lobjoit again made an identical save to the one earlier in the game to keep the visitor's goal un-breached. On a difficult afternoon weather wise both teams should be pleased to share the spoils.

Crawley Green are with out a game next week.

Crawley Green Reserves had no game the Saturday and next week they entertain Flitwick Town in the Britannia Cup.
