Arlesey Town FC 1 v Crawley Green FC 1
It was honour's even as Crawley earned a deserved point in what turned out to be a feisty encounter. There were only 2 goals but many chances created in a game which was end to end throughout.
Town came close to opening the scoring when an early free kick from Herson Alves was lashed against the post by Archie Sayer and the ball hacked to safety.
Crawley replied with a chance for Sam Holmes but he delayed before shooting and his effort was cleared. Crawley's Mark Blower then made a fine save to deny Jalen Miller and the Maroons had half chances for Holmes and Taylor Rhiney which were cleared.
Town's Herson Alves had a long shot just over and back came Crawley with a Dan Blackman free kick which was headed wide by Ehizojie Oifoh.
Blower made a good save with his feet to deny Sayer and the half finished with an effort from Crawley's Luke Andrews which was saved Ryan Hilliard and it finished 0-0 at the break.
In the second half Blackman had a free kick parried to safety by Hilliard and Blower was in action again as he saved from Miller.
The deadlock was broken in the 63rd minute when Sarnad Hoxha headed home a corner from the left to make it 1-0. In less than a minute Crawley were level. Jarred Isles combined with Holmes and his cross from the right was turned in by Taylor Rhiney to make it 1-1.
Holmes and Jake Fabur both went close for the Maroons and Fabur also provided 2 crosses from the right which went begging. Rhiney had a chance from the left but he shot when Holmes was free in the box.
So the game finished all square which was probably a fair reflection of the game.
On Saturday Crawley travel to Holmer Green.
