Crawley Green FC 2 v Arlesey Town FC 0

Firstly sincere "Season Greetings" from all at Crawley Green FC. Many thanks to Luton Sport for their continued support.

Crawley completed their 3rd successive win as thay ran out 2-0 winners against Arlesey Town and kept a clean sheet for the first time this season.

Arlesey fielded a vertically challenged debutant keeper Wa Si Lei and the Maroons looked to apply pressure straight from the kick off as an early in-swinging corner from the right by Phil Draycott was cleared off the line.

Town replied with an effort from Herculano Carvalho which rattled the Crawley crossbar and Manny Richardson put the rebound wide. Carvalho followed with a header from a Ryan Lamond cross which was saved by George Rose.

Crawley came back with a Dan Blackman corner which was headed wide by Chris Crook. Danny Watson then had a shot blocked before Mark Bunker rifled the rebound over the bar. George Rose was in action again soon after when he made a fine save to keep out a deflected shot from Carvalho and it finished 0-0 at half-time.

Crawley's Sam Holmes, back from injury, was introduced after the break to inject some much needed pace up front and 4 minutes later the Maroons took the lead. A Bunker volley from a Blackman cross was deflected for a corner on the right. Up stepped Phil Draycott who drove in a fierce in-swinging corner which Wa Si Lei flapped at on its way into the net.

Crawley then had an enormous let off when Aarron Browne, who had already been booked, pulled back Jalen Miller in the area. An honest Miller continued his run but his cross was blocked for a corner and the Ref waived play on. Town's Alex Taylor's corner from the right was tipped away by Rose and Crawley had efforts from Watson and Bunker go wide.

After 74 minutes the Maroon's doubled their lead when Draycott played in Holmes who neatly clipped the ball over Wa Si Lei to make it 2-0. Town knew it wasn't their day when in the closing stages a header from Jandiz Cruz bounced off Rose's right hand post and was cleared to safety. Crawley then closed the game out with a resolute defensive performance Special mentions must go to Geroge Rose for another solid performance in goal and Crawley's U18 starlet Kieran Floyd who was "Man of the Match".

Crawley's next game is scheduled for 02 Jan 21 when they entertain Edgware Town.

Crawley Green Reserves beat table topping Elstow Abbey 2-1 with goals from Chris Butler and 90+5 winner from Lui Sarrington.

Crawley Green U23 drew 1-1 with CS Rovers. Emmanuel Kusi scored the goal.
