Crawley Green FC 2 v Arlesey Town FC 3

It was the case of a tale of two halves as Arlesey came back from a goal down to win 2-3 in a thoroughly entertaining game.

Crawley had the better of the opening and went close with early efforts from Sam Holmes and Bily Lobjoit. Robbie Pointing in the Arlesey goal then turned round a shot from Crawley's Mark Bunker. Michael Draycott was next to go close with a header from a Lobjoit corner that cannoned off the bar. Pointing then saved from Phil Draycott after being set up by Bunker.

Arlesey came back with three Aarron Browne corners which were all cleared and Crawley replied with a Lobjoit free kick which was deflected over.

In the 29th minute Crawley deservedly took the lead when Sam Holmes and Danny Watson set up Phil Draycott who drilled the ball past Pointing to make it 1-0. Crawley went in search of a second and Andre Elliott had a good cross saved by Pointing. Arlesey's Charlie Black followed with a long range effort which went over and Crawley's Louie Lobjoit then saved well from Josh Brown. After a huge melee Town hit the bar and the ball was cleared as it finished 1-0 at the break.

The visitors had the better of the second half and they were level after 49 minutes when Alassane Gomis bundled in a Browne corner from the left to make it 1-1.

Crawley replied with a couple of shots from Draycott which were kept out by Pointing but the visitors came back and took the lead after 70 minutes. Charlie Moss made a god run down the right and drilled the past the advancing Lobjoit to make it 1-2.

Arelsey came close to doubling their lead when Ryan Lamond broke clear but his shot was blocked and 5 minutes later Crawley were back in the game. Phil Draycott and James Younger combined well to set up Sam Holmes and his shot was deflected past Pointing to make it 2-2.

Both teams went for the winner and it was Arelsey who regained the lead after 81 minutes when Ryan Lamond broke clear, rounded Lobjoit to score and make it 2-3.

Charlie Moss had a couple of chances to increase the visitors lead and Crawley had a late effort form James Younger which was saved by Pointing and the visitors ran out 2-3 winners.

Next Saturday Crawley travel to Tring Athletic.

Crawley Green Reserves came from a goal down to beat Queens Park Crescents in the Britannia Cup with goals from Terry Billy and Rashaun Rattigan. Next week they entertain the same side in the League.
