Harefield United FC 1 v Crawley Green FC 1

Crawley Green were rewarded for a gutsy performance with a hard earned point in a 1-1 draw against Harefield United.

After United's impressive Richard Paquette put an early header wide from a free kick Crawley took the lead in the 16th minute.
Phil Draycott rounded off a cracking move by Reece Green, Danny Watson and a killer pass from Adam Marsh to make it 0-1.

Reece Green then cleared a header off the line following a corner and Paquette went close with another header.
Paquette and Lennie Farhall were a handful for the Crawley defence and Farhall had a good shot saved by Crawley's George Rose.

Rose denied Farhall again when the lively number 9 went through one on one with the keeper and Farhall then a had a fierce shot cannon off the bar. United's pressure finally told in the 6th minute of added time when Paquette headed in a cross from the right to make it 1-1 at the break.

In the second half United's Reece Mallett saved well from a Draycott free kick before the hosts replied with a thumping shot which was saved by the boot of Rose. Crawley's Adam Marsh put a long shot over the bar and Rose punched clear a Paul Underwood cross. Crawley's Liam McGovern and Sam Pemberton combined to set up Alex Marius but his shot went well over before United dominated the closing stages.

United came close to taking the lead as Rose parried a stinging shot from Farhall and with ball running towards the line Chris Crook managed to hack the ball clear. Paquette was next up when he broke clear but he put his chip over the advancing Rose but wide of the goal. Rose then kept out efforts from Sam Shaw and substitute Tashin Jordan. In the closing minutes Jordan put a free header from a Shaw cross wide of the target and it finished 1-1.

George Rose Crawley's on loan keeper from MK Dons was the star of the show behind a defence which was well marshalled by Tyler Ingham and Chris Crook. Crawley entertain Wembley on Tuesday and have no game next Saturday.

Crawley Green Reserves were without a game on Saturday and next week entertain Marston Shelton.Rovers.
