Cray Wanderers inducted into the FA Library

On Monday, 2nd February Cray Wanderers, the second oldest Association Football club in the World were officially inducted into the FA Library.

A copy of the fine Cray Wanderers 150 year centenary book, Forever Amber, written by Jerry Dowlen and Pete Goringe as well as the Complete Statistical Record 1889-2010 now take their rightful place in the FA’s substantial historical archive.

Former Club Historian, Jerry Dowlen, former player and writer Derek Pullman and Club Secretary Mark Hunt were present at Wembley Stadium to officially hand the journals to FA Librarian Dave Barber who was incredibly well informed about Cray Wanderers and our history. He even made mention of watching Cray when we played at Oxford Road.

The FA Library consists of many Statistical books, club histories, player auto-biographies and many original FA documents going back to its early formation. So now Cray Wanderers take their rightful place amongst the great and the good of English Football literature.
