Cray play their third game of pre-season tomorrow as we make the relatively short trip to Holmesdale FC. Please note the kick off time of 7.30 for this game.
This is the first of a run of six friendlies over the next couple of weeks leading up to the big kick off on 8th August. We make another short trip to Glebe on Thursday, 23rd July before facing Lordswood away on Saturday, 25th July.
Holmesdale are managed by John Wilfort and last season finished 14th in the Southern Counties East League. The club were formed in 1956 and were based in South Norwood but have been playing at Bromley Common since the turn of the 2000’s. They were members of the Surrey County Premier League but decided to switch to the Kent County League when they moved to Bromley. They gained back to back promotions in the Kent County League becoming Champions in the 2006-07 season earning promotion to the Kent League (now Southern Counties East League) where they have remained since.
With Cray looking to find form at the start of this run of friendlies this should be a decent game with possibly a decent turn out of fans as a local derby.
Holmesdale's Oakley Road ground is in Bromley Common which is about 15 minutes from Bromley South Station and the 320 bus will take you . The Ground itself is basically on the opposite side of fields from Bromley’s Hayes Lane Ground.
The ground is located off the A223, close to Bromley Common Cricket Club
