Since my last column our fortunes have changed. This is largely down to the belief we all have in each other, as well as the football talent I have at my disposal.
Winning away at Met Police was followed up with a good win at AFC Wimbledon in the London Cup. The eight goals scored in those two games demonstrates we still have the fire power in front of goal.
Our game against Canvey saw us dominate the first half in typical Cray style. Our half-time lead should have been more than Boothie’s excellent strike.
A second half reshuffle, the result of losing Clarkie through injury, upset our rhythm and allowed Canvey back in, through a goal that was offside by at least two yards.
We had chances late in the game to steal the win but a point against an in-form side was a good result.
Our trip to Bury Town was good for morale – with five hours in each others company – despite the game being called off 20 minutes from the ground! Very frustrating.
Today's fixture against Margate will be a test for us especially with them pushing for a play-off place. But it will be good to meet up with two ex- players Vinesie and Tommy – top footballers and great blokes.
Players have trained three times this week and, with Clarkie fit, the squad’s at full strength. The only downside? Boothie’s recall to Maidstone due to their injury list; though he will be signing next season. I wish him well as he joins Maidstone in their fight for promotion.
I hope you have all enjoyed your Easter. Let’s hope we can finish it off with a positive result today.

P.S. I will be running the London Marathon again this year in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign. It is a charity close to my heart because my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and my wife all suffered from breast cancer. Luckily they all survived: but, sadly, there are many that don’t.
I would appreciate your support for this very special charity no matter how large or small your donation; it all goes toward the fight to eradicate this terrible disease.
