I have noticed a positive atmosphere at the club particularly over the last couple of games: both in the dressing room and on the terraces, among our supporters. It certainly showed in our 2-0 home win against Hampton and Richmond last Saturday; a timely boost in our battle for survival.
But although the job isn’t finished yet, a good result in our game tonight against Lewes should see our position in this division secured.
It’s hard to imagine when the teams last met earlier in the season that both sides were looking good for a play-off place. What a difference a few months can make.
Tonight, with your continued vocal support, I’m sure we can finally secure our place in this division.
Sandwiched between our last two league games was the London Seniors Cup semi-final against
Kingstonian. A mixture of youth and experience saw us lose by the odd goal in five. It was pleasing to see the four youth team lads step up to the mark. Their performance bodes well for our future.
As this is my last column for this season I’d like to thank you all for your loyalty. I know it’s been a season of under achievement but you've stuck with us and for that the players, coaching staff and myself are grateful.
Enjoy your summer break.
