Wingate & Finchley 2

Cray Wanderers 2
Stone 25, Hamici 34
WINGATE WIN 3-1 ON PENALTIES
Cray went out of the London Senior Cup after a penalty shootout at a very cold Wingate & Finchley after an exciting 2-2 draw after 90 minutes.
Cray made one change to the starting lineup from Saturday with Kery Kedze coming in for Marlon Patterson
The game started at a quick pace and it looked ominous for the Wands when the home side took the lead on 10 minutes when David Knight was played through and tucked home a composed finish.
Darren Behcet then saved well from Daniel Udoh and Michael Phillips tested home keeper Jack Metcalfe as chances came at both ends. Udoh had two chances to score before Lol Hamici put the ball in the net but was unlucky to be ruled offside. Then Ian Daly hit a fine shot which Metcalfe pushed over the bar.
On 25 minutes Cray levelled when Kedze inviting cross from the right was nodded in from two yards out by Adrian Stone for his fourth goal of the competition.
Cray then began to get on top and Dmitri Larin saw a header come back of the goal frame before on 34 minutes the Wands went ahead when Cesc Fakinos’ free kick from flicked on by Daly to Hamici who ran on and then hit a great shot past the keeper. Both keepers made good saves before the first half came to a close,
Half Time: 1-2
The Wands continued to press at the start of the second half but chances were fewer as the Wands seemed to be playing into a breeze. The best chance fell to Hamici who was played through but shot wide.
After that the game belonged to Wingate on chances and they levelled the scores on 65 minutes when Mark Goodman’s cross was headed home by Knight.
Chances for Wingate fell to Gavin Suddell following a good run and shot over and Marc Weatherstone shot wide. Behcet parried a shot from Jack Read as the home side looked the more likely winners. Wingate should really have scored right at the end when Suddell got on the end of a cross from Paul Wright but his effort was kept out by Behcet with an instinctive save and the follow up went over the top. Both teams pushed for a winner but in the end game ended 2-2 and a penalty shoot-out took place.
The Wands got off to a good start when Behcet saved Knights penalty before Hamici scored for Cray. Wingate made it 1-1 and then Metcalfe saved well from Michael Phillips kick.
Read made it 2-1 to Wingate then Daly blazed his penalty well over the bar. Harold Joseph made it 3-1 and then Hussein Isa hit his shot well wide and the Wands were out.
