9. The resurgence of Crescents Cricket Club coincided with that of Marlboro Cricket Club, with a relationship and friendships built nowhere else but on the cricket field.
I always remember the first few matches we played against Crescents. There was sheer competitiveness on the field and great camaraderie afterwards. I must add that we did have the upper hand in those first encounters!
The then Chairman of MCC, Zain Asmal, was in close contact with Mohammed Majam, working together and sharing ideas on the cricketing front. It is with these relationships that cricket within our communities becomes more than just a game.

On behalf of Marlboro Cricket Club, I would like to congratulate Crescents Cricket Club on their 75th anniversary, and wish the officials, players and supporters all the best in growing and supporting this game of cricket we all love.

10. The Concerned Cricket Fraternity of Gauteng would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Crescents CC on a significant milestone - its 75th Anniversary.

Crescents CC have a long and proud history, under the excellent leadership and guidance of Dr Hurley Asvat, Harry Naik, and also Moosa and Solly Mangera, among many others.

It is, therefore, exciting to see the revival and growth of the club once again, with the assistance of a new generation of leadership. The CCF is also grateful and proud to have Crescents CC as one of its loyal and contributing members.

The transformation of the GCB, and the significant progress made over the past few years such as the promotion of many previously disadvantaged clubs, the improvement of facilities and the success of the Lions and Strikers, which are largely due to the unconditional support and the contribution of Crescents and its senior leadership, in particular Mohammed Majam.

The CCF would, therefore, like to wish Crescents an even better next 25 years, so it can get to its century in fine style and further continue its impressive innings.

11. The Soweto Cricket Club (SCC) takes delight in congratulating Crescents Cricket Club on their 75th anniversary, a milestone, many clubs aim to achieve. To all former and current players, members, associates, opposition and family - well done.

Crescents CC's association with the community of Soweto is well-documented, with one of the club’s inspirational leaders, the late, great Dr Abu "Hurley" Asvat, who had a medical practice in Soweto.

The two cricket clubs have, in the recent past, worked closely together in assisting one another with playing facilities on match days, a relationship that is constantly building and will, in the very near future, lead to expansion and a cultural exchange that will stand our diverse communities in good stead. We've begun work on paving a vision that our predecessors had dreamed about during the oppressive years in our country.

The current administrators at both our clubs have also paved a path for the next generation and the next after them, while sitting in sub-committees of the Gauteng Cricket Board. The unjust Constitution that deprived many from our communities, I'm very happy to say, "Is a thing buried in the past!" Moving forward, the blending of our different club backgrounds, with the guidance of our elders, and the exuberance of youth in the modern era, can only bear fruit for improved representative provincial and national teams, reflective of our demographics.

To Crescents Cricket Club, may all the Cs in the acronym, bring about another 75 years of Competent, Competitive and Consciously-cognizant players who will do us all proud, on and off the field.

Special mention must be made of two individuals at Crescents CC that I've had the honour and privilege of interacting with regularly, Solly Mangera and Mohammad Majam - gentlemen, keep scoring the runs, taking those wickets and holding onto those catches that will produce fine cricketers soon!

12. On behalf of the Black African Cricket Clubs (BACC), it is an inspiration to witness that Crescents Cricket Club (CCC) is celebrating it's75th Anniversary. This augurs well for all clubs that have followed you and proves it can be done, irrespective of challenges faced.

The BACC members have had the pleasure of working with members of Crescents CC and forming a bond based on principles, ethics, morals and standards, to bring about unity for the improvement of our communities by using cricket as a vehicle.

Crescents CC, in reaching 75 years of existence, have illustrated that, with a determined administration, dedicated players and disciplined club members focused on a common goal , nothing can prevent a team from achieving its objectives!

Crescents CC members, as part of the Concerned Cricket Fraternity of Gauteng, in conjunction with the BACC, were instrumental in achieving today what was an objective of a group of Black clubs in the early 1980s, led by Dr Abu Asvat. It may have taken two decades of so-called "unity in cricket", but the province that is the economic heartbeat of a now emancipated South Africa, has a Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI) aligned to the Constitution and Company's Act of our democratic and free Republic of South Africa.

May the next 25 years of Crescents CC innings, be exciting in bringing about opportunity for our innocent children, that they need not be deprived of any opportunities to represent the province in which they reside, or the country they desire to have the honour and privilege to adorn the colours of, making a century of tireless jubilation in exemplary excellence.

The BACC as an Interest Group will endeavour to support the visionary efforts and actions, of those that led with distinction from Crescents CC, past and present! Making cricket a game enjoyed by one and all, from mass and gender participation to elite, professional representation.

From the infant BACC, to the elder Crescents CC, continue to soar and we'll follow.
