Crick Lions faced Badby & Farthingstone on a challenging soft pitch and batted first. Opener Frazer Grant (25 ret) got Crick off to a solid start finishing with 4 sixes in an over before retiring. James Gibbins walked out to the crease with his team mates advice ringing in his ears, "play straight, its a soft strip"...only to be bowled for a golden duck , much to his fathers vocal delight.

Dave Allen (22) and Pete Grant (23 n/o) then produced a fine display of cultured batting, supported by Paul Preece (14) to create two match winning partnerships. Charlie Gibbins joined the fray in the final over and played a replica of his sons shot to produce the 2nd golden duck of the day...cue the celebrations from James! Crick finished on a respectable 106 for 7 off 30 overs.

Opening bowler, Charlie Gibbins, produced 4 solid overs for only 2 runs and 3 maidens for his wicket. Nathan Grant backed him up with some tidy pace bowling, clean bowling the opening batsman with his first ball. By far the highlight of the bowling attack though, was the steady and accurate Dan Bunker, who took 4 wickets in his 4 over spell; he would have had his first "Five-for" had he caught one with his hands off his own bowling, but his face got in the way on this occasion. Martin Gough finished off the final 2 batsman in the closing overs with some excellent "bombs" and Badby were all out for 49.

A fantastic win for Crick Lions on the back of some improving performances this season, the fielding was again excellent throughout.
