Updated guidance on Under 18’s football activity 31st Dec. (v2)

Further to recent the Government guidance on Wednesday 30th December and North West County FA Joint Statement on Thursday 31st December with regards to the introduction of Tier 4 areas and the latest information on COVID-19, we have issued the following update.

All Under 18s football can continue only within Cheshire Tier 4. This means volunteers and players cannot move between all other Tier 4s (Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cumbria) and cannot travel to Tiers 1-3 for football activity.

The following defines which local authorities are aligned to which regions and which Tier they are now in:

We have put some FAQs below to hopefully assist you in understanding the guidance :

  • Can teams in a Cheshire Tier 4 area play against other Tier 4 areas like Greater Manchester or Lancashire?
  • No, you must not travel between Tier 4 areas.
  • I live in a Merseyside area but play for a Cheshire Club. Can I still play/train with them?
  • No, you must not travel outside of your Tier area. So if your team play games/train within Cheshire area (i.e Warrington) you cannot travel in from another area (i.e a Merseyside area) to participate and vice versa.
  • So as long as the local authority I'm playing/training in comes under the same area for that tier area I can attend?
  • Yes, so for example if you live in Warrington the Tier 4 area you fall into is Cheshire. Therefore your allowed training/playing areas as listed above are Cheshire West & Chester, Cheshire East and Warrington.
  • If my club has multiple match/training venues that may cross the Tier areas can I still participate?
  • As above you will only be able to play or train at the venues that sit within your tiered area. You will not be able to train or play in other tier areas.

We implore everyone to strictly follow the UK Government’s national and Crosfields strict COVID-19 restrictions. Any incidents of non-compliance will be reported to the LCFA.

We would like to thank you all once again for your hard work, resilience and understanding during such an incredibly challenging period for both the club and our community.
