The much anticipated return to league fixtures on real grass some 3 months after the last game was eagerly awaited by all the girls and parents alike, a fact highlighted by the biggest turnout to date with 20+ spectators on the side lines for this one!.
The match got underway with the girls playing into a howling wind and still dusting off the cobwebs, the pass and move football soon returned though and was rewarded by an early penalty which Jess L fired into the top left hand corner to give the keeper no chance, Crosfields continued to pile on the press and were harshly denied a second when megan P's effort was judged to have not crossed the line.
The girls started the 2nd half in the same vain as they finished the 1st and were denied for a second time, this time in the shape of a second pen, not to be denied the girls rallied and were soon 2 - 0 up after some fancy footwork from Elle Whittaker playing back in her deep holding midfield role.
The pressure was soon turned up again in between hearty frodsham attacks and Megan parker made it 3 calmly slotting in after seeing a number of chances saved by the keeper. Mia Bates thought she had opened her account having hit a shot from just outside her own area that took the slightest of deflections of Millie Perry to round of the scoring and make it 4.
The girls although not at their free flowing best produced a performance worthy of the lofty league position that they really had to dig deep for against a Frodsham team really playing for their manager.
Well Done Girls keep up the hard work!
