Following on from last weeks mauling at the hands of todays opponents the key words at training were desire and wanting to win, prior to the game Paul and Stew drove home just how proud all the parents were of what had been achieved this season. this seemed to do the trick and the girls were playing with a smile on their faces again and set about the vickies said in search of the title, following a few attackes from both sides the vickies made the breakthrough with a crisp shot that flew in past the despairing dive of Jessie Byers in goal, the girls showed the grit and determination that had been asked of them prior to kick off and were on level terms with in 5 minutes only for northwich to score again.
The girls shook themselves down and were level again a couple of minutes before the half time whistle.
Following a quick tactical change going back to our more familiar 2-1-2-1 formation, the game continued with a cup tie like feeling which following chances at either end was decided with almost the last kick off the league campaign.
a great team performance from all the girls with Fiona Dennett and Katie Richardson playing way above what is expected and both rightly earning the girl of the match trophies, that along side midfield master classes from both Millie Perry and Elle Whittaker who doubled up to jaw dropping effect to nullify the threat of daisy boardman.
A big well done must go to all connected with Northwich Vickies and especially the girls who left nothing out on the pitch following the 3 games between the 2 sides.
Well done girls Champions......
