Megan P Snaches Victory with Last Kick of the game

The girls got back on to the grass pitches with a friendly game against Champions League Opponents and claimed a narrow hard fought victory in what was a great game of flowing football played in great spirit.

A number of changes were made to the side including captain for the first half Elle Whittaker going in goal and keeping a clean sheet before sitting out the second half and handing the armband back to Katie Atkinson for the second half. Scarlett Campbell Scored the opener with a delightful volley that went in at the far post before relentless end to end attacks more akin to a cup match enabled Chester to snatch an equaliser in the 2nd half, after Millie Perry got the slightest of touches on to a shot that rebounded of the post and into the path of an oncoming striker.

The girls continued to exchange attacks in a pattern that would have been right at home on a basketball court with Jess Longton and Jessie Byers holding firm at the heart of the defence.

As the clock ran down it looked as though a draw would be the end result when Katie Richardson picked up the ball in her half, crossed the half way line before putting Megan Parker in with a beautiful through ball just seconds before the ref blew for full time!

Back to winning ways for the Yellow and Blue army!
