Crostyx Hockey Club runs a Junior Hockey Programme which is open to boys and girls. The objective of the Programme is to provide a structure that enables young players to learn to play hockey. Junior league and friendly matches are a key part of development and are made as widely available as possible.
All training sessions are led or overseen by qualified England Hockey coaches and often with some assistants and learner coaches!
Safety is very important and we recommend that you wear shin-pads, ideally specific to hockey, and a gum shield. We can provide sticks initially for you to borrow during the session. Please ask if you'd like to know more.
Crostyx Hockey Club is affiliated to England Hockey, has ClubsFirst Accreditation, and works closely with London Borough of Redbridge, local schools and the community in connection with this programme.
Junior players are eligible for selection in the adult section of the club when they have had their thirteenth birthday, in line with England Hockey, East League and Essex League rules. Juniors are integrated into the senior teams with the aim to provide as great an opportunity for those wishing to do so as possible. It is not always possible to provide adult hockey for those eligible and interested in playing but we endeavour to do so, where appropriate.
