The Crostyx ladies 2’s had yet another successful game on Saturday morning. After a slow start the team started one down after the East London 4th team managed to break through our otherwise strong defence. However, the determined team fought back with Lucie and Kate holding back their skilful attack.
Towards the end of the first half, the midfield worked as a strong unit and played the ball up the pitch to George, who scored making us equal. At half time the team had a talk from Rusty, motivating them to work harder and more as a team. With this mentality, the team then went and played even stronger. Lucie proceeded to score an amazing deflection over the keeper’s head. With this putting Crostyx in the lead, East London started to play more tactically, playing an increasing number of balls down the left. However, with Tia and Libs skilfully defending the D the opposition never stood a chance of scoring. From an outlet ball, Zayna managed to carry the ball to the top of our attacking D and struck an amazing sweep, right to the back post.
This left the game at 3-1, leaving us with another amazing win. Well played ladies.
