A third defeat of the season kept the Keys at the bottom of Division Two and helped their victors keep pace with table-toppers Ashby Mill Road. RHH put pressure on the Crowle goal within seconds of the kick-off and took the lead in the third minute through Ben Chafer whose side-footed volley from a left wing cross was beyond the reach of Matthew Harrison.

The home side was quicker into its stride and produced the better chances of the first half, hitting the crossbar and the post before Oliver Webster brought RHH’s goalkeeper Chris Quibell into the game. Webster’s long-range drive was ten minutes before the break, and would have drawn the sides level, as would a shot from Jack Martinson which went narrowly wide soon afterwards but it was at the other end of the field that the next goal went in.

This season won’t see many goals like the one Josh Davis netted in first-half stoppage time. Jon Prendergast’s cross from the left wing struck the post via Chafer’s back, rebounded off Harrison’s shins and rolled straight towards RHH’s number twenty who won’t mind the deflection the ball took off Harvey Neasham’s ankle on its way into the net to take the score to two-nil.

A third goal for the homesters came from the foot of Robbie Drayton ten minutes into the second period and was to be the last change to the scoreline. The Keys weren’t without opportunities in the final half hour; Aaron Smith drilled a shot wide of the post from inside the penalty area before Sam Shipman repeated the trick from the other side of the box. A late foul on Jack Martinson presented a final chance for the Keys but Byrn Gosling’s free kick hit the wall and RHH held on to a clean sheet.
