At our AGM last Tuesday evening, our Chairman, Stuart King, announced his visibly difficult decision to step down after five years in the role.

It's fair to say that Stuart has given his heart and soul to the club. His commitment to the club has been unwavering, and his contribution over many years has been immense.
Stuart's journey began when his son, James, was just five years old. From those early days, he helped guide that age group all the way through to Colts. Along the way, the team enjoyed remarkable success, winning two Devon Cup titles at Under 13s and Under 15s, an achievement that his long-time coaching partner and friend, Stu Young, cannot recall being matched before or since. Even more rewarding is the fact that several of those players have gone on to become key members of our First XV.

After more than a decade helping to build one of the club's most successful junior teams, Stuart was the natural choice to move into a senior leadership role. Throughout everything he has done, his approach has remained the same, work hard, lead by example, and get the job done.
Above all else, Stuart has always championed the "One Club" philosophy. His determination to unite every section and ensure that everyone felt part of the same club will, without doubt, be his enduring legacy.
Fortunately, Stuart isn't disappearing altogether. He'll still be around the club, just without the responsibilities of a formal committee role. With increasing work commitments and, perhaps more importantly, becoming a proud grandfather, he's more than earned the chance to enjoy a little more time for himself and his family.

On behalf of everyone at the club, THANK YOU, Stu, for your dedication, your leadership, and everything you've done for the club. Your contribution has made a lasting difference, and it is greatly appreciated by all.
