34 matches were played throughout the day with each team playing up to 5 matches. The players showed excellent teamwork, respect and discipline and were a credit to their coaches and clubs.
The festival was made possible by the hard work and driving force of the Club Fixtures Secretary, Paula Briar, supported by the Club Chairperson, Deb Whiteway and club members committed to making the day a success.
Paula Briar said “This is what makes all the planning worthwhile, seeing so many children, smiles on the their faces, enjoying the fantastic game that is rugby. All the planning has paid off. Thank you to all the volunteers from Cullompton RFU for helping make the day a success.”
Along side these volunteers the club was fortunate to have young players from CRFC assist. Special thanks goes to Rivers, Molly, Thomas, Gabriel, Tisha, Finn, Immy, Toby, Max and Freya.
Each one did a sterling job reffing every game played. This spared the visiting teams coaches who were able to concentrate on looking after their teams.
The players, coaches and supporters enjoyed good rugby, fine weather and an efficiently run day. Positive comments were received by the club, which makes the hosting of such a large event worth all the hard work.
