And so the second half of the season begins for the Colts taking on Brixham in the Devon Cup competition. The game was a little overshadowed by the fact that there was a big local derby taking place with the first team taking on Tiverton; such an important game for the first team that the club house was packed to capacity.

Cully kicked off with a howling cross wind and immediately turned over the ball. A few phases later and Tom Bendall powered through to open the scoring. Max Zilch added the conversion. From the restart Cully continued to press and despite being camped out in Brixham's half they could not make their possession pay until in the last minute, after being held-up over the line, Tom Cole scored off the five metre scrum.

In the second half Brixham started positively but were soon back defending their own line. Tim Simeria then drove over to score amongst a pile of bodies for a birthday try and his second try in two games. Adam Jarrett then added his second try in two games. There then followed tries from Elliot Gibbons and Ben Tipton with Brixham adding a consolation try inbetween. The final conversion attempt was handed to Tim Simeria who sent the ball spinning towards the posts only to see it rebound off the crossbar.

An excellent game played in good spirit and well refereed. All the Cully players played their part and were blowing towards the end and for once Kev had nothing to say. The players then went off to cheer on the first team to victory and formed a tunnel to clap them off the pitch at the end.
