1st Team v Maghul 1st

Daisy hill considering playing without 6 first team players showed what depth in squad they will have this season. Without attacking forces of Daniel Gregory Golden Boot winner and player of Division one last season, Damon Clynes and Jon Buckley the team gave manager Craig Thomas food for thought. Good solid defensive performance in the first half and late into the second was pleasing to the manager. This year looks like Daisy defensive frailties last year could be strengthened with some excellent composure and passing from the back linked with strong tackling was pleasing to the eye. The midfeild performances were impressive with hastings , naylor and Collier matching the Maghull midfield with some great interchange play. With a new forward line daisy couldnt quite open up the Maghull defence as the final ball evaded the daisy strikers. A good hard working display was shown from Daisy who eventually went down 2 nil with two late goals. The manager was not dispondent with the result as it had proved to be a good exercise for the management team to view so many new players. Good opening debuts for paul Bridge, Danny Newton, Levi adams, Billy Mcguiness and come back king stevie Wynn getting back to his best.
