The pre-season warm up games in season 2019-20 began for Daisy on a dull Wednesday evening, with a trip across Bolton to face Eagley of the West Lancashire League.
The night began well with Matty Knowles scoring the opening goal on his return to the club, and it was 2-0 just after the half hour when Gaz Roberts had time and space to collect a cut back, and bury a shot under the keeper.
Three minutes before half time, Eagley pulled a goal back when the Daisy defence failed to clear tier lines, and were punished when the Eagley centre forward fired a low shot into the bottom corner.
It had been a lively first half but the pace dropped a little after the break, and as the game wore on, it was Eagley who looked the likelier team to score.
Seven minutes from time there was a narrow escape when a cross cannoned off Jean Khasa and was diverted just wide of the post, but with three minutes left Eagley grabbed an equaliser when one of their second half replacements scored with a downward header.
