Darlington Discipline Strikes Again!

Darren Hoare, Mark Baldwin both crossed the line between a well drilled forward pack. Darren managed to cross the white wash after a well won lineout, Gary Beck unable to add the extras in a fierce wind. After turning around at half time, clever play from the pack by winning the initial contact allowed a maul to be set up allowing off the bench scrum half Mark Baldwin to use the forwards to hide behind who took the ball over the line with what seemed like ease and great comfort.

Gary Beck managed to whip the ball on the outside of a hard press to Adam Gardner, David Kilpatrick and Ollie Pearse were on hand to help out by putting the ball through the hands to winger Andrew Tonkin, this time Gary Beck was able to offer the extras, using the wind to help steer the ball through the uprights.

James Parks showed his blistering pace twice in the 80 minutes, the first was a fine solo play after hitting a great line between the Consett winger and outside centre beating the full back and a player who appeared to be 'helping' the full back he went in under the posts untouched, Gary Beck added 2. He then again crossed the line this time from open play and the Darlington backs opened up the Consett defence meaning he was in a similar scenario to his first causing mayhem, Beck was unable to add the extras.

Consett managed to break the Darlington line on a number of occasions a couple of occasions. Their tries were well deserved BUT they could have all been stopped, there is no argument about that.

Congratulations have to go to Consett who took opportunities when they were given to them and the overall victors of the game. We'd like to wish them good luck in the next round, as well as the rest of the season.
