Joint training session for the under 8's, 9's, 10's, 11's and 15's and a coaching match for the under 11's

It always shines on the Youth Academy
- Luke Stickings

Sunday 5th March saw 2 local clubs come together to participate in a sport loved by all.
The morning kicked off extremely dark and pouring downing with rain. DVRFC youth seemed to take over the Erith club house whilst hiding from the down pour. The parents didn't look to happy about going back out side.
Whilst they were getting their tea' s and Coffee the shutter over the window open and it literally was 'let there be light' as we looked out the window and it was clear blue sky's. Much relief to some of the parents. 'The sun always shines on the youth academy'

With that cleared up players and parents emptied the club house and made their way onto the field. All players took part in the warm up and then both clubs came together to do a 30 minute skills and drills set organised by Jim (Erith youth coach)

Then the under 11's started their training match fixture with Erith. DVRFC lead by Luke Stickings and Erith lead by Jim. Both coach's were on the field reffing and stop starting the match to coach the players as it happend.

The rest of the players continued training which was then lead by David Fulton and Laura Stickings.

Once the match and training had finished we all made our way into the club house to have a well deserved sausage in a role supplied by Erith followed by player of the match. Each teams player of the match was selected by the other teams coach which once announced was finished in true rugby style. First one to finish their drink. The boys did good!!!

The morning was a great success and we look forward to returning the favour to Erith at our ground in the near future.
