One change to the starting line-up saw Phil Cassidy, returning from a one match suspension to replace Tommy McGowan who was suffering from a dead leg. Adam Creaney returned from injury to take a place on the bench. The visitors would be keen to make amends after the 5 1 drubbing at home in the UCL League Cup, albeit with a controversial sending off.

During the week it was announced that Arron Parkinson and Ian King had won the UCL managers of the November.

Prior to the match there was a minute’s silence to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Town’s first chance came in the 4th minute when Phil Cassidy had a shot tipped over the bar by Payne. The resultant corner was cleared without any danger.

Jordan Orosz was pulled back by full back Craig Parker and was rightly cautioned, again the free kick was cleared without incident.

The visitors had their first chance on 20 when Jordan Nuttell headed just wide of the goal.
Town went in front on 24 minutes. JAKE DUMBLETON closed a defender down quickly as he tried to clear the ball. The defender slipped and the Mansfield Town scholar curled the ball around the keeper to put Town 1 up.

A second booking for the visitors when Moussi was brought down. Jamie Elston, the unfortunate victim, as to the majority of the crowd, it was the previously cautioned Parker.
Some would say the Poachers deserved this after last week.

Jake Bettles was unlucky to see a shot go just wide of the right hand upright.
The Poachers Nuttell forced a good save out of O’Connor with the keeper going full length to push the ball away.

Town seemed to up a gear briefly and some slick passing ended up with Confue brought down outside the box. Again, the free kick failed trouble the visitors defence.

The visitors drew level on 42 when Will Britton got behind the Town defence and lifted the ball over the on-rushing Ant O’Connor.

2 minutes later and Town were so nearly behind as O’Connor saved a Nuttell header from point blank range.

No changes for either team at halftime

Jake Dumbleton went close with a shot from out wide that Payne tipped over the bar.

O’Connor had to be alert as the Poacher’s goal scorer last Saturday tried his luck from 30 yards out. The keeper pushed the ball around the post after it bounced in front of him and zipped off the greasy surface.

Alexander played an excellent pass for Dumbleton to run clear on the left but his cross is just cleared before Bettles could apply his magic.

The Poachers took the lead on 72 minutes when Will Britton made an excellent run across the front of the box. The pass to him was perfect and he finished over the advancing O’Connor from the edge of the box.

O’Connor made a further save with his legs from Nuttell.

Will Britton picked up a tired defensive slip to get a deserved hat-trick.

So whether it was the curse of the manager of the month award or by a fired up Boston Town performance, Town fell to their first home UCL defeat since the opening day of the campaign
