With Ashley Robinson, Ryan Howell and Mykel Beckley on the treatment table and Adam Confue suspended, Daventry Manager Darran Foster included Tom James, Neil King and Chris Murphy in his starting line-up.

Daventry produced their first shots on goal within the first few minutes, a fine ball from Ross Oulton split the Rams defence wide open, only for Scott Cross to blaze his shot high over the bar and Tom Lorraine blocked a clearance from the Rams keeper, but was unable to steer his shot past the keeper.

Ramsgate had appealed for a penalty when centre forward Ian Pulman went to ground in the area, but referee Kevin Seckington, waved away their loud demands.
Rams Ben Laslett was booked for pulling back Tom Lorraine, and it was from this free kick that Scott Cross gave Daventry the lead. Ross Oulton put the free kick into the penalty area, where there were loud appeals for a handball, but the ball fell into the path of Cross, who hammered the ball past keeper Daren Hawkes. Cross almost scored minutes before the break, but his shot this time was struck against the cross bar.

Marcel Simpson free at the far post, had a wonderful chance to score, but somehow managed to put his header over the crossbar, from almost under the bar! Tom James scored the second goal, receiving a pass from Ross Oulton, the former Watford player had a simple tap in, to give Daventry a two goal lead at the interval.

Man of the Match Liam Dolman produced a comfortable and commending performance, whether in the air or with his feet, Daventry will be hoping he steers clear of injury and prying scouts!

The Rams pulled a goal back just after the hour, Daventry appearing to have taken their foot of the gas! Centre forward Ian Pulman hit the post and was quickest to react to the rebound, grabbing the ball from the net and placing it back on the centre spot, such was his belief that his side could get back into the game.

Daventry responded with immediate effect, Chris Murphy scoring a stunning goal from outside the area, easily beating the keeper and a deflated Ramsgate. In the Daventry goal, Richard Morris made two excellent saves in the last ten minutes, the first a fine effort from the over physical centre back Oliver Schulz, tipping his powerful header onto the bar and effortlessly palming another shot from substitute James Everitt over the cross bar.

Another break forward for Daventry saw Lorraine pass the ball out to Simpson, whose cross was met superbly by Scott Cross, who volleyed a his effort just wide of the far post.
A hotly disputed goal from James Carroll, appearing to be well off side, gave Daventry some final anxious minutes, a mid - week replay in deepest Kent, the last thing anyone in Daventry wanted!

Daventry held on to record yet another hard earned victory, now turning their attentions to much needed league action on Tuesday 19th November (KO 7.45pm) when they entertain Uxbridge Town at Communications Park.
