A perfect cross from Neil Champelovier provided Daventry with the first strike on goal, the cross finding Josh Blake, whose effort was comfortably saved by Jamie Mcalindon.
Jake Newmans neat footwork enabled him to hit a shot across goal, narrowly outside of the far post.
Josh Blake had another headed effort turned away for a corner and Joe Henderson, getting stronger with every game he plays, clearing a goal bound shot from Jake Newman off the line.
Kettering had loud appeals for a penalty turned away by referee Ian Rathbone, after a low cross from Louis Hamilton, appeared to strike a hand!
The experimental Daventry team held out until the 45th minute before conceding the first goal, a miscued clearance form Joss Holford, fell at the feet of Jake Newman, who rounded Moldovan keeper Cerga Iustin, running the ball into an empty net.
Kettering scored four more times in the second half, Ashley Fuller converting two unstoppable free kicks, the first being given for what looked like an `air shot` from Will Muzvimbiri had gone wrong.
Jonathan Bukasa added to the score line, after confusion in the Daventry defence allowed the ball to fall at his feet and Louis Hamilton completing the rout, with a sweet strike from outside the area!
Former Daventry Town striker Scott Cross, was surprisingly left out of the Kettering team!
Foster commented after the game, `I would like to say sorry to our few travelling fans tonight, I made nine changes to the squad because of the FA Cup game on Saturday, it was something I had to do!
I thank them for their loyalty, despite knowing it would be an under strength team out there tonight, they still turned out on a cold and miserable evening!
