Stanley Rangers brought the fixture forward as the Bulldogs are playing in the Leeds Rhinos Festival at the weekend. The visitors played up the slope in the first half looking to contain the home side quick plays. Stanley kept the ball moving at every opportunity and despite the Bulldogs working hard in defence they were able to find gaps in the defensive line. It took 10 minutes for Stanley to cross the try line but they quickly added 2 further tries converting one of them to lead by 14pts. The Bulldogs were guilty of losing the ball early in their sets which allowed the homeside to add 2 further scores before the interval to lead by 24pts.
The 2nd half started with the Bulldogs upping their game and were rewarded with a quick try by Harley Audin but Max Brown missed the conversion 24pts to 4pts. From the restart the Bulldogs made another mistake which allowed Stanley to regain the ball and score near the corner. The visitors were back in the game but at crucial times they lost the ball, they were in the Stanley half for long periods even forcing a dropout. Errors continued to mount with the homeside taking advantage to run in 3 further tries to run out 42pts to 4pts winners
