45s surge back to summitt while 35s lose their way

The 45s went back to the top of veterans Div2 with a 4-2 success over Catcliffe's Princess Royal while the 35s suffered a 5-0 drubbing at Joker FC from Wickersley

The 45s were the one team from United to gain victory as their 4-2 away success over Princess Royal gave them the points to move back to the top of the Wragg league Div 2 Veterans. Mark Smith opened the scoring before adding another to give the side a 2 goal advantage, the home side reduced the arrears for a 2-1 halftime score line but 2 second half goals from Mark Smith, he completed a treble, and Karl Whittaker gave the team a 4-1 lead and though the home side pulled one back the 4-2 win did not flatter the 45s, indeed but for a couple of dodgy offside decisions from an officious ref the margin of victory could have been even greater.

It was a different story for the 35s, struggling for numbers with only 10 available players the team travelled to Wickersley to face 2nd bottom club Joker and took a pasting losing 5-0. Nothing more to be said on what turned out to be a miserable afternoon for the team.
