The 45s went to Dronfield Town knowing that a win over the current leaders would propel them to the top of the league however with a couple of players unavailable that task became more difficult and so it proved as they went down 1-0, though it was a defensive mix up of their own making that gifted the points for the home side. Dronfield now lead the United Vets by 3 points as they further established their place as league leaders though it should be said that United do have a game in hand so they are not out of the title race just yet. The race for top spot however, is not restricted to Dronfield and United as teams are so close there is potential for 5 other teams to have a say in the destination of the silverware.
As far as the 35s are concerned, what a difference a week makes. After travelling to West End Terriers last week and coming away with a terrific 6-1 success the side hosted the same opposition at Old Road today but the tables were turned as the Terriers won 4-1, which according to manager Lee Johnson was United's worst display for more than 2 years, Adam Farouk got United's consolation.
