Derby day tomorrow Denbigh Development v Henllan!
With the first team playing away, the Reserve team game being postponed and the pitch not yet cutting up we have a rare opportunity to give our young Development team a chance to perform on our first team pitch.
Our Development Team are made up of a very young but talented group of footballers many of whom have yet to reach their 17th birthday and are experiencing their first season in senior football. They play in the Salisbury Accountants [ St Asaph ] Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division 1. The opponents tomorrow lie in 6th place in the table with Denbigh two places below in 8th.
The weather should be decent so why not venture down to Central Park to watch two local sides battle it out ? A chance to watch them from our covered stand and we hope to have tea, cold drinks and sweets etc on sale at our cafe.
Free entry for all although we would appreciate it if spectators bought a raffle ticket for a chance to win a bottle of wine!
We spoke to manager Craig Morris who said " This will be a good chance for our youngsters and another step in their development. Apart from playing on a quality surface they will have the experience of playing on a large pitch which is wider than many. I am hoping they will learn how to save energy when possible, make the ball do the work and use the space to their advantage. Irrespective of the result I am hoping for a good game against Henllan and hope they enjoy the day too. We look forward to seeing our neighbours here. Having said that we certainly intend to compete and give them a game."
Kick off 2.30pm
Come on lads !
