Central Park Saturday 7 Sept 2019 ko 2.30pm

Having looked at the stats we can say that Denbigh Town v Glan Conwy this Saturday at Central Park is almost certainly bound to be another close game.

Glan Conwy sit comfortably in 8th position in the league on 10 points having only played 6 matches to date. They have conceded 12 and scored 12 and all their wins and losses in the league have been by just the one goal!

Our Saturday opponents are clearly a strong side and are the only team this season to beat one of the front runners , Llandudno Albion. They have also beaten Bodedern and Prestatyn Sports - all three wins at home. They also had a comfortable 8 - 2 win in the Welsh Cup Round 1 last week at home to Pentraeth so we know they can score goals.

Denbigh are sitting at the top of the table and want to do everything possible to remain there. We will be missing KP again and Mark Roberts, who came off last Saturday through injury and probably Jon Terry too and so are fortunate that the league's top scorer Jake Walker is in form having scored ten goals in seven league matches. Our defence are doing well and we are not leaking as many goals as we were last season and a lot of this must be down to keeper Antoni Sarnowski who appears to have really settled down in the Denbigh goal making some great stops.

Manager Dewi Llion explained how he and Owain Roberts are so pleased with the way the team has bounced back from the disappointment of losing at Holyhead in the last seconds by moving on and beating Llandyrnog and Penrhyndeudraeth. He feels there is always room for improvement though and added "We let that goal in at Holyhead in the last minute and we let a goal in against Llandyrnog after a mistake at the back. We are looking for the lads to remain switched on until the final whistle and to always have one hundred percent awareness. It was good to keep a clean sheet last weekend." He then added " Penrhyn saw us play three youngsters in midfield. Dan Clarke, Sion Jones and Conor Jones put in first class displays and we were able to give 16 yr old Owen Heath time on the pitch before the final whistle and he had some nice touches."

Dewi would like to thank the fans and stressed that a good following really does help the the players. " The support really is appreciated by us all " he stressed.

So ... please get down to Central Park on Saturday. It is going to be a good game. Plenty of covered seats and refreshments available.

Let's go for another win!

C'mon Denbigh!
