WEMBLEY BECKONS, AS EWE RAMS ACCLAIMED FOR 3RD SUCCESSIVE YEAR

This weekend representative from Derby County Ladies will be attending the annual FA Women’s Awards at Wembley Stadium, having been shortlisted for two awards in which they have enjoyed recent success. According to club Chief Executive, Duncan Gibb, the club is delighted at this latest recognition from the FA and is aware of the positive impact that it has on the wider Derby County brand.

“ Last year the club walked away from the awards named as the best run club outside of the Women’s Super League, whilst the year prior to that our club secretary, Sheila Rollinson was named winner of the ‘ Outstanding Contribution to Women’s Football ‘ award. We have again been shortlisted in both categories, as we have been in each of the last three years. Given that there are 24 teams within the Premier League set up, to make the final three in both award categories for three years running is an outstanding achievement and one of which we are understandably proud.

Closer to home the main club will be delighted that the Derby County name and brand are being consistently recognised in a positive light at national level, not only for our achievements, but the way in which we go about delivering them. In the modern day and age a football club is as much a brand as it is football club, and therefore anything that we do directly impacts on the overall brand.
