Third home win in a row for Didcot

Didcot Town made it three home wins in a row with a 2-0 win against Melksham Town.

Second half goals from Owen James and Cam Mills secured a crucial three points, as the railwaymen moved up to 14th in the table.

Didcot started brightly with Tyger Hall seeing his early effort blocked.

Fin Coles then had to be alert to block a shot after Melksham had got in behind the Didcot defence.

Owen James then went close for Didcot. Cam Mills did well down the right, and his cutback found James, but he couldn't keep his effort on target.

Didcot went ahead in the opening ten minutes of the second half. Tyger Hall did well down the left, and he found James, who made no mistake with this chance despite the defender desperately trying to keep out his effort.

The goal was James's 13th of the season, and he has now scored in each of the last three home games.

Fin Bell almost equalised for the visitors, but his effort came back off the crossbar, but it was Didcot who looked more likely to go further ahead.

Cam Mills twice, Owen James and Adam Learoyd all went close to doubling the lead.

Didcot made the game safe in stoppage time.

With Melksham chasing an equaliser, a long clearance eventually found Mills, who then found JP Nyuysemo on the left. The player of the match cut inside only for his effort to be blocked. His effort fell to Mills, who made no mistake from 12 yards.

A good three points for Didcot, who now face two tough away games, starting with Hartpury on Tuesday evening.
