The game began very open and the early pressure came from the home side. Mark Janes had a great chance to put Didcot ahead but dragged his effort wide of the post. Janes had another chance minutes later but put his chance wide again.
Just before the break and slightly against the run of play, AFC Totton were gifted the opening goal when Andy Ballard’s mistake fell to Dylan Knight who made no mistake from close range.
Just after the break, the visitors doubled their lead after another defensive mistake. A pass out to Marvin Martin was intercepted and the resulting ball could only be tipped into the path Neil Williams who taped into an empty net.
The visitors made it three just ten minutes later when Nick Watts fired home however Didcot hit back when Janes headed home from an Andy Ballard throw in.
Following Didcot’s goal, substitute Jack Longford was booked after an altercation with Totton keeper Steve Mowthorpe just seconds after coming on. Just minutes later he was shown a second yellow after an off the ball incident.
With Didcot a man down and pushing to get back into the match, the visitors hit the woodwork three times before Dave Allen got Totton their fourth ten minutes from time to confirm the victory.
