A LATE Alex Read penalty stopped Didcot Town from taking all three points from the Harlow Arena on Saturday.
Within four minutes, Adam Learoyd poked home a Connor Barrett corner for his fourth of the season, to get off to the best possible start on what is the longest away trip of the season.
However, a rash challenge by academy graduate Josh Hedges on Harlow’s Syrus Gordon, left referee Jack Willmore with little choice but to show the forward a straight red card.
Didcot were arguably on top in the first half, but the second was all one way traffic and Harlow thought they’d equalised for the first time when they headed in at the far post, but the linesman was quick to flag for offside.
With twenty to play, the home side had the ball in the net again, only to be ruled out once more by the officials.
It looked as though Didcot had managed to hold on for the win, but just before stoppage time, Marcus Marku and Leigh Bedwell collided and the latter was adjudged to have committed a foul and a penalty was awarded against Didcot for the third time in five games.
Alex Read stepped up and sent Bedwell the other way.
Diddy have stopped the run of defeats, Harlow remain in 8th.
