Didsbury Greys vs Didsbury Northern 3s Match Report

It was the first match after Christmas and 13 purple Christmas puddings were waiting to play (in the freezing cold I might add), with one ginger purple pudding traveling far and wide to get to the match as they had no car (amazing commitment Shandy!!). As we all start to play we could feel the Christmas dinner and booze sweating out of our bodies.

A lot of good play resulting in getting the ball more in our half and having a couple of short corners gave us a number of chances to score, some excellent defending plus Bev being knocked and doing some good somersulting kept the opposition at bay for most of the 1st half, but unfortunately Northern scored making in 1-0 to them at half time.

After playing for a while longer in the second half the game started to get more physical, giving Beth a stick to the knee causing her to get a nipply knee and Bev to be knocked over a few more times.

Bringing back our spirits Tracy, making some unorthodox moves and dodging lots of Northern players with the ball made a reverse stick pass across the D, which was expertly dummied (missed?!) by Soph to leave Kath a simple tap in for a goal!! 1-1 Wooooo!!

Unfortunately Northern scored again making the score 2-1 to them, a disallowed late Grey's goal meant this was the score at full time leaving us purple Christmas pudding devastated by the defeat but ready to shake the Christmas pudding off for next weeks game!
