Champione Champione, ole ole ole

Just to confirm that last season the mighty Dings Warriors did in fact win the Gloucester Reserve League South 1 title, pushing Avonmouth into 2nd place.

The league has changed slightly this season with Avonmouth 2s being promoted to the Premier division (It would have been nice with the 2s and 3s in the same league!). New to the league will be Thornbury 3s, Whitehall 2s, Old Bristolian 3s and Bishopston 2s – but favourite battles such as Cleve and Clifton remain.
Dings Warriors begin the defence of their title away to Frampton Cotterell 2s on Saturday.

A few updates from the team:
Rumours of Adam Plummer hiring a personal trainer over the summer to be in the peak of physical fitness are in fact true. Rumours of Marcus Strafford gaining the weight Adam has lost are also true (despite a recent appearance on the wing).
Filipo Managlia has been hard at work practising his throwing in all summer and has improved considerably, he can now get at least one straight throw-in all match (as long as its not windy. Or wet. Or winter)
Terry ‘Rocky’ Webb failed in his attempt to enter the Olympics in the Boxing. He’ll just have to wait until Cleve away.
Steve Billing has recovered from the gash in his forehead sustained during the Ashley Down tournament, and is looking for retribution. The fact that this will be dealt against a team mate is all the funnier. Fil, he buries bodies for a living.

Just another gentle reminder to the lads that we are training on Tuesdays from 7 - nothing to strenuous, just to make sure our set piece is firing etc. Get your arse up there!

If the 1s are away/you don’t normally watch any of the lower sides, or you’re too tight to pay the entrance fee, you’re more than welcome to come and cheer the lads on during the season – the lads appreciate the support/heckling, but with the 1s entertaining Clifton at Home on Saturday – I expect it wont be this weekend!

Come on you Dings
