Dings slumped to another defeat at unbeaten Worthing going down five tries to one to slip to the bottom of the table. Whilst the contest was pretty even up front the home side backs were far too quick and strong for a Dings defence that was continually at full stretch. Once again Dings did not help themselves with ill discipline costing them three yellow cards.

Worthing opened the scoring in the third minute when full back Matt McLean ran back a Dings clearance kick from his own twenty two to the Dings twenty two untouched to feed centre Kiba Richards for a try under the posts. Dings replied on seven minutes with try for scrum half Waylon Gasson who seized on a ball from a Worthing scrum under their posts, stand off Harvey Skelton converted.

Worthing’s second try came on fifteen minutes when centre Richards broke through the middle to feed flanker Sam Hewick, McLean converted. On twenty minutes Dings had centre Tim Gear-Evans yellow carded for a dangerous tackle closely followed into the bin by skipper Stean Williams for remonstrating with referee Keith Lewis after a succession of penalties. Dings did well in second quarter despite being reduced to the thirteen men for ten minutes restricting the home side to a single McLean penalty and with Skelton replying for Dings the halftime score was 17-10 to the home side.

Again not for the first time this season Dings opened the second half poorly and within ten minutes of the restart were out of the game conceding two converted tries in as many minutes. The first saw stand off Ben Dudley drive a penalty deep into the Dings twenty two with Hewick getting his second try from the resultant line out catch and drive. The second that secured the home sides bonus point came from turnover deep in their own half seized on by stand off Dudley and after son slick inter passing lock Will Stutchbury was on hand to touchdown under the posts to stretch the home sides lead to 31-10 on forty seven minutes.

After hitting the post with a penalty attempt Skelton added his second for Dings on fifty minutes. Dings did enjoy plenty of possession and their pack fought hard to match the home eight but were continually pegged back by the home sides back that made huge yards with ease every time they got the ball.

Dings had their third yellow card on seventy-two minutes when Gasson was binned for a late tackle. The home side completed the scoring with their fifth try by stand off Ben Dudley after a mix up by Dings in the centre on half way gifted the home side the ball.
