Henley 35 Dings 8

Dings were no match for a very strong Henley side, who put on a fine performance by scoring five tries and even spilling a couple more.

Dings stuck to their task and held the home side in the first half, restricting them to a single try and a half time score of 11-3, but the defensive effort took its toll and the home side ran riot in the second half.

Henley took the lead with a try after 15 minutes from centre Danny Wells, after he took an inside pass from an outside break by wing Chris Bart.
Dings were unlucky not to level the score two minutes later when stand-off Waylon Gasson broke through the middle and carried to the try line, only to see his inside pass find a lone Henley defender.
After a couple of long-range penalty misses from Dings Harvey Skelton, the home side stretched their lead with a penalty from stand-off James Comben, on 24 minutes, and a second on 30 minutes to make it 11-0 to Henley.
Skelton replied for Dings on 32 minutes and Dings went close to scoring a try when Gasson took a quick tap penalty, but was held up over the line for a half-time score of 11-3 to Henley.
Henley opened the second half with a try from close in from flanker James Sutton after two minutes, and proceeded to dominate the half with the Dings defence at full stretch.
On 50 minutes, wing Bart added a try from an outside break to increase the home side's lead to 23-3.
More pressure followed and the referee awarded Henley a penalty try on the hour when the Dings pack wilted under pressure at a five-metre scrum.
Dings got their solitary try on 69 minutes when full-back Skelton crossed over out wide.
After a couple of last-ditch try saving tackles by Dings, Henley rounded off the scoring with their fifth try five minutes from the end when hooker Alex Hepburn crashed over from close range.
