The first half was even with both sides attacking well but making mistakes at key times and a half time score of 14 apiece was a fair reflection on the first 40 minutes. Phoenix had secured two good tries both scored and converted by fly half Will Smith, playing out of position but relishing his new role as key play maker and kicker.
Broadstreet had stayed in the game and they too looked sharp on the break, though in fairness it was errors by the home side that directly lead to their tries, both of which were converted the second of which was on the stroke of half time.
The second half was all Phoenix who tightened up in defence, Broadstreet failing to attack the home try line once all half, whilst sharpening up their attacking options.
Having been pushed around a little in the first half the Phoenix pack of forwards started to dominate and on the 50 minute mark number eight Jamal Khalil pushed over from close range before captain Sam Bottomley went over 10 minutes later after a midfield break by co-centre James Wright split the visitors defence apart.
That score basically sealed the game, but Phoenix were not finished as flanker Clayton Hill scored a brace of tries and Will Smith secured his hat-trick picking up an interception close to the try line as Broadstreet tried to play out of defence.
The visitors now looking a little shell-shocked, and down to 14 men for the final ten minutes due to ill-discipline, were constantly under pressure and Phoenix broke the 50 point mark when man of the match scrum-half George Tankard went over for their 6th try of the half, four of which were converted by Smith.
A good day for Phoenix, picking up five points and cementing a mid-table position in the Midlands Premier League with just four games to play.
