Absolutely devastating to lose by 4 runs in what I thought was a very even game, that we should have probably won. Small margins unfortunately but we were always one wicket down too many.

Great effort from all the bowlers, all of whom were excellent. Hardly any extras and I can’t recall seeing so few “four balls” being bowled. Olly R was first class and Pete brilliant as always but Chan, Hugo, Ollie and Dom all bowled fantastically well. On the batting front, we were seriously hampered by two torn hamstrings and a broken finger, so well done to Olly, Will and Tom for all stepping up. Ollie M got going and looked brilliant, only to feather one down the leg side which was desperately unlucky. Marcus; tough luck on getting triggered with an absolute shocker….we could hear the willow from the pavilion. Andy – great knock (59) from you mate and unlucky not to see it through. Brilliant 34 from Olly R who almost won us the game. Chan, what a champion! 32 not off about 20 balls almost pulling out a Houdini job on them…another great knock from the M&H!

Last, but by no means least; thanks to Ponty for stepping up and fielding for 25 overs or so….life in the old dog yet! Will Orr you owe Ponty five beers….one for every five overs shift he put in for you.

On balance, I think the injuries, being down to 10 men for five overs and being a little less sharp in the field than the oppo, probably made the difference.

Very exciting game and just so sorry we couldn't pull it out of the bag. Great to see everyone enjoying it and giving it a real go.
