Reminder about SOCIAL DISTANCING within the Clubhouse and Bar/Balcony Area

Good Afternoon All,

Today we have received a complaint about club users ignoring the social distancing rules.

Furniture is being moved

People are standing on the balcony

People are smoking on the balcony

People, including committee members, are standing in the clubhouse talking and ignoring requests to sit down

People are sitting in much larger groups than the 6 person rule

Accusations are being made that we are not policing the situation properly.

When we met to discuss reopening it was agreed that the rules we were proposing were acceptable and that THE CLUBS would help police the situation.

This so clearly not happening, in fact it’s the opposite.

We have four choices now we have received a complaint.

1. Stick to the rules and all help police it.

2. Employ more staff to police it and cover the cost through increases beer prices and pitch fees

3. Bar non compliant individuals

4. Close the club

Tony will be reviewing the rules and relaxing some where he sees fit BUT we still have to observe the LEGAL social distancing rules otherwise we will get fined and shut down and that fine will be shared across all 3 clubs.

As a Director I do not want the stigma of the fine and possible social media exposure about our negligence and neither should you all.

Please circulate this message to all your members urgently and help Tony and his team police the situation.

If it does not improve I will have no hesitation in closing the club or barring non compliant individuals who simply don’t care about the health of others.

I apologise for the tone but this is simply not acceptable and we have a duty of care to fellow users and a licence we would like to keep.

Best Regards

John Morris

Chairman
