Old Roan are a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde side

Confidence is high following a good pre-season campaign and a strong 100% start to the regular season; scoring ten goals in the process and keeping two clean sheets. An impressive stat when you consider only one clean sheet was kept in the whole of 2014/15 regular season!

Although it’s been a good run; one defeat in eight in all competitions, we’ve yet to face a real title contender in the League. Is Old Roan likely to be up there come May? This is a difficult question as they are a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde team and with so many teams across two leagues; you never know which one you’ll face!

Our recent record against them is patchy, two wins, three draws and three defeats in the last four seasons and an average of 5.25 goals per game. One memorable game in 2012/13 saw an entertaining 6-6 draw!

Last season we had fine 4-2 away from home – goals from Chris Plummer (2), Charlie Boyles and an o.g. followed by a disappointing 1-1 draw at home, where a win would have seen us finish as Runners-up! The home goal was scored by Chris Plummer.

Although missing a number of regular players, let’s hope we are strong enough to maintain our fine start and stay top of the pile.
