Drummond started the brighter of the two teams with Sam Chapman having two good chances in the opening 25 minutes but failing to convert either one. However, he more than made up for his earlier misses when in the 28th minute he drove down the right and crossed for Joe Neville to place the ball into the net in a manner Thierry Henry would have been proud of. With their tails up Drummond continued to press Wickham and were rewarded in the 32nd minute with a fine finish from the impressive Sam Chapman. No further goals were added in the 1st half and you could see Wickham were grateful for the half time whistle.
Drummond continued to press in the 2nd half and were rewarded in the 57th minute when Declan Stow breaking out of defence, laid a fine ball to Joe Neville who crossed for Kieran Crowley to coolly slot the ball past the keeper - an excellent team goal.
Alex Jenkins replaced the injured Steve Simpson in the 67th minute and was quickly in the thick of it with a number of robust challenges, one of which led to the booking of two Wickham players! They huffed and puffed, became more and more frustrated, and never looked like breaching the Drummond defence. Alfie Roberts replaced Martin Driscoll in the 85th minute to play out the final moments of the game.
